Bret Bielema’s pillars of support seem to be slowly crumbling.

As everybody knows, I’ve made it a major goal of mine to destroy his career at Arkansas ever since his smoking hot wife decided to pop off and start a war with me.

I was mostly alone in this fight for the longest time, but the tide appears to finally be turning in my favor. Now SEC Country, a very popular website among football fans in the South, recently published a piece titled, “Bret Bielema’s buyout is huge, but it shouldn’t save him if his team collapses.

SEC Country wrote in part:

I have no problem giving Arkansas athletics director Jeff Long the green light if he feels compelled to do what many are calling for in Fayetteville.

That is, fire Bret Bielema and pay him his massive $15.5 million buyout.

Bielema’s schtick, while entertaining, shouldn’t overshadow a disastrous season. For lack of a better phrase, that’s putting lipstick on a pig.

The thought of eating $15.5 million is as daunting as it gets (or so I hear). Making the wrong hire in today’s college football landscape often comes at a hefty price. Programs like Auburn (Gene Chizik), Nebraska (Bo Pelini) and Notre Dame (Charlie Weis) made that tough decision.

If Bielema can’t turn around his team’s season, nothing should stop Arkansas from joining that club.

It’s been an incredible journey, and the war looks like it’s finally about to be over. Bielema would pretty much need a miracle at this point to keep his job.

The media is turning against him, the fans have finally had enough and my work is coming along very nicely. Bielema’s downfall is my Mona Lisa. Countless hours, incredible effort and commitment, tuning out the haters and staying the course. Don’t forget he’s only 3-7 against Power Five conference teams since this whole feud got kicked off.

It’s just too entertaining to watch the facade around him collapse. I’ve been predicting it for years, and Arkansas fans would only laugh. Well, they’re not laughing now.
