Democratic Representative Seth Moulton said Friday that he doesn’t think his party has learned the “right lessons” from Hillary Clinton’s loss in the 2016 presidential election.

WATCH:

“Coming up on a year now since Hillary Clinton lost to Donald Trump,” “Morning Joe’ cohost Willie Geist said to Moulton. “Do you think your party has learned the right lessons from her loss?”

“I don’t think we have,” the Massachusetts congressman admitted. “We need to look at ourselves in the mirror and realize that we have lost–not just in 2016, but in several elections before that.”

“We’re in the worst position we’ve been in since the 1920s in the House, the Senate, the White House,” he continued. “We’re not in a governing position at all.”

Rep. Moulton said that he believes his party has “lost touch” with a lot of voters and needs to focus on a message that is not just anti-Republican or anti-Trump.
