The media and Democrats, including the mayor of San Juan, have accused President Trump of responding too slowly to the disaster, which left the entire island without power. At a news conference on Tuesday afternoon, Trump practically ignored the San Juan mayor while praising Puerto Rico’s governor.

However, Trump left behind any politics surrounding the disaster as he met with victims of the savage storm.

In one video, Trump meets with a family and asks them how their house held up and if Hurricane Maria was the worst storm they had ever encountered.

“And what did you think? Did you think that was the end?” Trump asked. “Worse than anything you’ve seen before?”

“Good going,” Trump told one man. “You’re here.”

Throughout his tour of the island, Trump and Melania talked to several families and stopped to take group photos with some of the victims.
