Celebrities reacted on Twitter Thursday following The New York Times exposing decades-long accusations of sexual harassment against film producer Harvey Weinstein.

Lena Dunham praised the women who came forward and spoke out as being “brave” and called out Hollywood to shine a light on “ourselves for a second and what we’ve condoned.” (RELATED: Michael Moore Teams Up With Harvey Weinstein For Anti-Trump Film)

“The woman who chose to speak about their experience of harassment by Harvey Weinstein deserve our awe. It’s not fun or easy. It’s brave,” Dunham tweeted.

“Yup. Hollywood shines light on Catholic Church, sex trafficking- let’s shine it on ourselves a second and what we’ve condoned,” she added.

Rose McGowan, who is mentioned in the piece as one of the woman who reached a $100,000 settlement with the Hollywood producer in 1997, encouraged women to fight on and men to “stand up,” before calling out businesses who work with the producer.

“Women fight on. And to the men out there, stand up. We need you as allies. #bebrave,” McGowan tweeted.

Journalists also weighed in on the accusations.
