Sean Hannity wrote an op-ed for Fox News Friday, accusing Democrats and media pundits of pushing gun control legislation to undermine the constitution.

“In the wake of the Las Vegas massacre, some pundits are calling for the shredding of the Constitution and the eradication of our right to keep and bear arms,” Hannity wrote. He specifically referenced “so-called conservative” New York Times writer Bret Stephens, and MSNBC for contributing to the hysteria.

Stephens wrote his own op-ed entitled, Repeal The Second Amendment, where he denounced the need for “blanket protection” of gun ownership.

Hannity pointed out the hypocrisy of liberal pundits and politicians, calling for stricter gun laws, highlighting their wealth and ability to afford private security.

“Unlike a lot of liberal celebrities and politicians, regular folks don’t have armed guards or live in big houses with expensive security systems,” Hannity wrote. “So, if people like Michael Moore, Bret Stephens really believe in repealing the Second Amendment, then let them leave themselves and their families unprotected.”

The Fox News host targeted Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, and said she is relying on a “slippery slope” effect with the bump stock ban, hoping it will lead to broader bans of firearms.

“They want to ban all guns. They want to disarm millions of law-abiding American citizens and prevent them from being able to protect themselves, their children, their wives, their families,” Hannity concluded.
