A new report indicates that there is a dislike of U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
The New Yorker reported Friday night, “According to the senior Administration official, Nikki Haley, the U.N. Ambassador, is seen as the most effective diplomat in the crisis; twice she has rallied unanimous support for tighter sanctions at the U.N. Security Council, despite the members’ reluctance to discomfit China. ‘Nikki’s getting it done,’ the official told me. ‘She’s bringing home the bacon.'”
“This has apparently fed an enmity between Tillerson and Haley. ‘Rex hates her,’ the official said. ‘He fucking hates her,'” the article continued.
The article profiles Tillerson and his time in the White House. One point of contention between President Trump and Tillerson is how to handle North Korea’s ambitions. Tillerson would prefer to fix the situation without conflict, yet Trump has been more aggressive and quick to anger in his handling of the Hermit Kingdom.

The secretary has been under pressure recently, after media reports alleged that he called Trump a “moron.” Trump fought back aggressively against the reports, however, Tillerson did not deny the specific comments.
Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, has seen her profile rise since ascending to U.N. ambassador. She reportedly was behind increasing refugee admissions, and has displayed an aggressive posture toward Iran.
