‘Thursday Night Football’ Ratings Up Over Last Week

The ratings are in for the “Thursday Night Football” Game between the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the early numbers show an improvement over last week’s game.

The Patriots’ 19-14 win over the Buccaneers averaged an 11.1 overnight household ratings, according to Deadline. That’s 12 percent higher than the week before when the Green Bay Packers beat the Chicago Bears 35-14. (RELATED: NFL Ratings Drop After Day Of Protest)

The numbers also show an increase of 26 percent over the previous year’s game at the same time between the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals, which had an 8.8 rating.

Last week’s game following a weekend when more than 200 National Football League players decided to kneel during the singing of the national anthem after a suggestion by President Donald Trump that owners should fire players who refuse to stand.

During Thursday night’s game, the players and coaches first held a moment of silence to honor the victims who were killed in the Las Vegas massacre Sunday night, before all the Buccaneers and Patriots players stood for the national anthem.
