President Donald Trump slammed Republican Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee in a series of Sunday morning tweets.
“Senator Bob Corker ‘Begged’ me to endorse him for re-election in Tennessee. I said ‘NO’ and he dropped out,” Trump began early Sunday. “(said he could not win without my endorsement). He also wanted to be Secretary of State, I said ‘NO THANKS.'”

..my endorsement). He also wanted to be Secretary of State, I said “NO THANKS.” He is also largely responsible for the horrendous Iran Deal!

…Hence, I would fully expect Corker to be a negative voice and stand in the way of our great agenda. Didn’t have the guts to run!

The president then went on to say that the senator was “largely responsible” for the Iran nuclear agreement before concluding that Corker was always going to be a “negative voice” against the Trump administration.
The comments come after Corker made a statement Wednesday that appeared to slam Trump’s handling of foreign issues like the North Korean threat.
“I think Sec. Tillerson, Sec. Mattis and Chief of Staff Kelly are those people that help separate our country from the chaos,” Corker said on Wednesday, according to C-SPAN. Although the quote that included several high profile advisors in the White House was ambiguous, Trump quickly responded with the assumption that the comments were directed at his job performance.
Corker elaborated on the chaos comment, adding that “there are other people within the administration” that don’t work together to make U.S. foreign policy appear “sound” and “coherent.

Corker isn’t a new critic of the administration. He declared in August that the president “has not been able to demonstrate the stability nor some of the competence that he needs to demonstrate in order to be successful,” according to CNN. A comment that Trump said was “strange.”
Corker announced in late September that he would not seek re-election to the Tennessee Senate in 2018.
“When I ran for the Senate in 2006, I told people that I couldn’t imagine serving for more than two terms,” Corker said in an official statement in September. “Understandably, as we have gained influence, that decision has become more difficult. But I have always been drawn to the citizen legislator model, and while I realize it is not for everyone, I believe with the kind of service I provide, it is the right one for me.”
