MSNBC host Craig Melvin asked Monday if President Trump had a point about not negotiating with North Korea.

Melvin said, “The president claiming that U.S. policy hasn’t worked in North Korea in 25 years, doesn’t he have a point? I mean, the U.S. hasn’t been able to stop North Korea’s nuclear weapons program, or their ambitions for that matter. I mean, was President Trump–was he handed a bad situation?”
This segment is in response to a tweet from President Trump Monday morning saying, “Our country has been unsuccessfully dealing with North Korea for 25 years, giving billions of dollars & getting nothing. Policy didn’t work!”
President Trump has taken to calling North Korean leader Kim Jung-Un, “little rocket man” and recently tweeted that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is wasting his time trying to solve the North Korean nuclear issue through diplomacy. Trump added, “Save your energy Rex, we’ll do what has to be done!”
