Many Hollywood industry insiders knew about Harvey Weinstein’s inappropriate behavior, but it is difficult to “say no” due to Weinstein’s power in the entertainment industry, an actress wrote in an article Wednesday.
Léa Seydoux, a French Actress who starred in the 2013 film “Blue is the Warmest Color,” recounted her past experiences with Harvey Weinstein in a piece for The Guardian. Seydoux explains the actions of Weinstein are very common in the business.
Many people knew about the Hollywood mogul for many years, Seydoux wrote in The Guardian Wednesday, adding: “That’s the most disgusting thing. Everyone knew what Harvey was up to and no one did anything. It’s unbelievable that he’s been able to act like this for decades and still keep his career. That’s only possible because he has a huge amount of power.”
“You’d be better if you lost weight,” Weinstein allegedly said to Seydoux.
While she knew his true intentions going for a drink in Weinstein’s hotel room, it was “hard to say no because he’s so powerful. All the girls are scared of him.”
He uses “his power to get sex,” Seydoux wrote. Weinstein tried to jump on her on a hotel sofa and tried to kiss her, she claims.
“I had to defend myself. He’s big and fat, so I had to be forceful to resist him. I left his room, thoroughly disgusted,” she wrote.
