David Litt, a former speechwriter for President Barack Obama, said in an interview that President Trump’s Twitter usage is fitting.

“I think like most Americans, I’m not a huge fan of his Twitter habits. But I think it is noteworthy that he found a medium that makes sense for his style of communication,” Litt told Charlie Rose in a clip released Wednesday.

Watch:

Nearly 70 percent of voters in a recent poll said they want Trump to quit Twitter, a platform he has used to attack people ranging from North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un to cable news hosts.

“The FAKE [mainstream media] is working so hard trying to get me not to use Social Media. They hate that I can get the honest and unfiltered message out,” Trump wrote in a June tweet defending his Twitter habit.

Litt told Rose: “If he were writing in longer more…prosaic flowing sentences it wouldn’t work as well. Twitter seems to match his attention span and his kind of frenetic style. I think that’s something other politicians not just Trump are going to think about in the future. Not just what I want to say, but what tools do I want to use to say it because there are more tools than there used to be.”
