Amazon is releasing a television series centered about Tom Clancy’s legendary character Jack Ryan, and it looks awesome.

John Krasinski, who famously played Jim in “The Office,”  stars as Ryan in the series.

The plot of the new show, according to IMDB, is, “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan follows an up-and-coming CIA analyst thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time. The series follows Ryan as he uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.”

I can’t wait for this series. Some people might think Krasinski is an interesting casting choice to play a badass like Jack Ryan, but anybody who saw “13 Hours” knows fully well that he can play a gun-toting triggerman without any problem.

Most people who get famous on a role like a Jim in “The Office,” usually end up sticking to comedy. He’s now made the jump to multiple action roles. It’s been a very impressive transition to watch.

Also, you’re an idiot if you didn’t find “The Sum of All Fears” entertaining. That Jack Ryan flick gets no respect, but is a very solid movie.
