Actress Jessica Chastain pointed out the hypocrisy of Hollywood in regards to the Harvey Weinstein allegations.

Hollywood is “an industry rife with racism, sexism, and homophobia,” Chastain said at the Elle Women in Hollywood event Monday, reported the Hollywood Reporter.

“Oh, we’re very quick to point the finger at others and address the issue with social action and fundraising,” Chastain said. “Yet there is a clear disconnect between how we practice what we preach in our industry.”

“I was warned from the beginning. The stories were everywhere,” Chastain tweeted Oct. 9. The New York Times released a piece about the sexual assault allegations on Oct. 5.

“We must amplify” the voices of women from sexual assault, Chastain added Monday.

Other attendees of Elle’s event spoke about their personal sexual harassment experiences in the entertainment industry. Reese Witherspoon claimed she was sexually assaulted by a director at age 16 and Jennifer Lawrence stated she was pressured to stand in a nude lineup.
