Actress Annabella Sciorra slept with a baseball bat by her bed for 20 years after Harvey Weinstein allegedly raped her in the 1990s, according to a Friday interview.

Sciorra told The New Yorker that Weinstein first raped her in the 1990s, and then sexually harassed her throughout subsequent years. Following the traumatic incidents, Sciorra claims that she still sleeps with a baseball bat by her bed, just in case he showed up at her house again.

The actress starred in Weinstein’s film, “The Night We Never Met,” and says that he threatened to sue her for not wanting to start filming earlier, which sources close to the producer deny. Following the filming, Sciorra says she became part of the “circle of Miramax”.

After dinner in New York with Weinstein one night, he offered to drop her off. A few minutes after saying goodbye, Sciorra heard a knock on her door, and when she unlocked it, Weinstein pushed the door open. He “walked in like it was his apartment, like he owned the place, and started unbuttoning his shirt. So it was very clear where he thought this was going to go. And I was in a nightgown. I didn’t have much on,” Sciorra said.

“He shoved me onto the bed, and he got on top of me,” Sciorra added, saying that she tried to get away by kicking and screaming, but he locked her arms and raped her.

Sciorra then went to London in 1995 to work on “The Innocent Sleep” and Weinstein kept leaving her messages to call him or meet in a hotel. She said he sent her cars to the hotel, which she ignored. One night he allegedly started pounding on the door, so Sciorra secretly changed hotels.

She appeared in the crime drama “Cop Land” in 1997, saying she did not realize it was a Miramax film. At the Cannes Film Festival, a Miramax associate told her her room would be next to Weinstein’s.

“There’s Harvey in his underwear, holding a bottle of baby oil in one hand and a tape, a movie, in the other,” she recalled, recounting when she opened the door after hearing a knock. “And it was horrific, because I’d been there before.” The actress kept pressing buttons for valet and room service when one finally showed up. Weinstein retreated when hotel staff arrived.

Sciorra joins hosts of other women speaking out against Weinstein for alleged sexual assault, while several labels and awards have pulled or threatened to pull Weinstein from their rosters.
