The red band trailer for “I, Tonya” was released Wednesday morning, and it looks like it’ll be an outstanding film.
The plot of the film, according to IMDB, is, “Competitive ice skater Tonya Harding rises amongst the ranks at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, but her future in the activity is thrown into doubt when her ex-husband intervenes.”
Margot Robbie, Bobby Cannavale and Sebastian Stan all star in the highly-anticipated biopic about one of the most infamous moments in sports history.
The story behind Tonya Harding is a dark moment for American Olympic history. Her main opponent, Nancy Kerrigan, was attacked to the point she couldn’t compete anymore. It was later revealed Harding’s husband hired the assailant who took out Kerrigan.
Hopefully this film lives up to the caliber of storytelling Harding’s saga with Kerrigan deserves. Otherwise, it’s going to be a massive letdown. We can find out December 8, which is when the film is scheduled to be released.
