Josh Gordon’s business manager Michael Johnson thinks the Cleveland Browns’ recently reinstated wide receiver is the best player on the planet.

Those comments might sound like a joke or parody when in reference to a guy who hasn’t played since 2014, but they’re dead serious.

“The best football player in the world is back in the NFL,” Johnson told NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport.

He also added to Adam Schefter that Gordon in the best shape of his life.

The second quote might be true. In fact, it probably is almost certainly true. Gordon is sober and working out. It’s a lot easier to get in shape when you don’t have booze and drugs in your system.

However, perhaps we should hit the brakes on whether or not he’s the best player on the planet. Let’s wait until he steps on the field to play a game before we start make bold claims about whether or not he’s the greatest alive. Seems like a reasonable approach to the situation.
