In a  surprising move, a CNN analyst and anchor agreed that guns are not to blame for the Texas church shooting that took place on Sunday.

WATCH:

Devin P. Kelley murdered 26 people and injured 20 others in a church shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas. During a discussion about the massacre on CNN on Monday, law enforcement analyst Jonathan Wackrow asserted, “gun or no gun, this individual had the propensity to violence.”

“Why?” Wackrow asked. “We keep talking about the gun and the type of gun–this is beyond that at this point in time.”

“Great point,” anchor Kate Bolduan agreed. “Right.”

“This is about the individual and we need to, as a society, look at leading indicators and clues as a collective whole to prevent this from happening in the future,” Wackrow continued. “Whether he bought the gun legally or obtained it illegally, that is separate from the fact that he had the propensity to go in and cause this action.”

“He didn’t do this in a vacuum,” he said.
