Actress Maureen O’Hara called out Hollywood in 1945 and threatened to quit acting after she got tired of producers and directors allegedly slamming her because she wouldn’t “let them paw” her.

“I am so upset with it that I am ready to quit Hollywood,” the then 25-year-old actress shared in a newspaper clip,” Fox News reported Monday. “It’s got so bad I hate to come to work in the morning.”  (RELATED: Ed Asner Asks Chris Jansing For Kiss During Weinstein Interview)

“I’m a helpless victim of a Hollywood whispering campaign,” she added. “Because I don’t let the producer and director kiss me every morning or let them paw me they have spread word around town that I am not a woman–that I am a cold piece of marble statuary.”

“I guess Hollywood won’t consider me as anything except a cold hunk of marble until I divorce my husband, give my baby away and get my name and photograph in all the newspapers” she continued. “If that’s Hollywood’s idea of being a woman I’m ready to quit now.”

In 2004, the “Miracle on 34th Street” star told The Telegraph she wasn’t going to “play the whore” when it came to her career.

“I wouldn’t throw myself on the casting couch, and I know that cost me parts,” O’Hara explained. “I wasn’t going to play the whore. That wasn’t me.”

Her comments come to light amid a flood of sexual harassment allegations in recent weeks against Harvey Weinstein and others in the entertainment industry.

O’Hara died in 2015 at the age of 95.
