This week’s episode of “Alternative Facts” discussed the increasingly common tendency to report on ordinary government action as groundbreaking or unprecedented during President Donald Trump’s administration.

In just the last week, the Trump administration has been criticized for curtailing press access on an overseas visit to China, and for reviewing the terms of a merger between two sprawling telecommunications corporations, despite the fact analogous actions were taken by the Obama administration.

WATCH:

“Alt Facts” also discussed criticism the president received for dumping an entire box of fish food into a koi pond during a photo op with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. ABC News, CBS News, and CNN all released videos of Trump dumping the food into the pond, prompting widespread mockery for Trump’s supposed impatience and disrespect.

None of the videos showed that Abe had dumped his box of fish food into the pond just moments before.
