Donald Trump and LaVar Ball are officially in the news cycle together, and I couldn’t be more excited.
LaVar’s son LiAngelo was recently released from Chinese custody after allegedly stealing from a Louis Vuitton store during a team trip. Trump intervened on their behalf, and LiAngelo Ball and his two UCLA teammates were on their way home in less than 24 hours.
Everything seemed to have wrapped up nicely after the three basketball players got back to America. That was until Trump hopped on Twitter.
“Do you think the three UCLA Basketball Players will say thank you President Trump? They were headed for 10 years in jail!” Trump wrote.

You have no idea how long I’ve waited for this day. LaVar Ball and Trump are two of the most entertaining people out there. One is the most powerful man in the world, and the other is the head of Big Baller Brand. Two straight alpha males who dominate the narrative. I have prayed and prayed since LiAngelo got arrested that Trump and LaVar would cross paths. I was hoping for a joint press conference between the two.
That hasn’t happened, but now we’ve got Trump calling out his son for not publicly thanking the president for his efforts. That means we’ve got the ball rolling. Could you imagine if LaVar Ball turned into Trump’s hype man for a 2020 re-election bid?
Would the Democrats even bother running anybody? If they did, Lavar could just turn around and shout “Stay in your lane!” It’d be pure electricity.
I’d like to thank God for answering all of our prayers. This is about to get extremely entertaining. Now we all wait on pins and needles for Lavar’s response. It’s going to be awesome.
