Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield closed down the Heisman field as the heavy favorite when the Vegas sports books were closed.

Mayfield’s odds ranged between -250 to -2,000 at the end of Sunday, according to ESPN. Vegas law stops sports books from taking money on the Heisman race after November 19.

ESPN reported Stanford running back Bryce Love, Penn State running back Saquon Barkley, Arizona quarterback Khalil Tate and Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor all followed behind.

This isn’t overly surprising for the odds to breakdown this way. Mayfield has had a great season, Oklahoma is rolling and will almost certainly be in the playoff. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I’m surprised Jonathan Taylor didn’t rise up higher. The Badgers are undefeated, and he’s the main reason for that. I would have had thought he’d get a shade more respect.
