CNN host Brian Stelter claimed on Monday that liberal late night audiences want to see “Trump’s downfall.”

Stelter, while discussing a documentary he made about late-night comedy under President Trump on CNN, said, “These hosts, especially the Stephen Colberts and Trevor Noahs, they’re reacting to their viewers what their audiences want, and what their audiences want is Trump’s downfall.” (RELATED: New CNN Series To Focus On ‘Challenges Facing The Media’)

“A lot of the viewers of the shows, whether it’s ‘The Late Show’ or ‘The Daily Show,’ or shows like that, these audiences, many of them left-leaning or maybe some moderates, they want to see Trump either resign or have him impeached, and the comedians are channeling that, you know, Colbert, and Seth Meyers, and Jimmy Kimmel have called for Trump to resign,” Stelter added.
