Police ended a days-long manhunt Tuesday with the arrest of Rahmael Holt, the man accused of murdering a Pennsylvania police officer last week.
Officers also arrested friends and members of Holt’s family — including his mother, Sherry Holt — who were accused of harboring the fugitive after he allegedly shot and killed rookie police officer Brian Shaw, the Tribune Review reported. Holt, 29, has been charged with first degree murder, illegal firearm possession, and carrying a firearm without a license. Shaw, 25, had been with the force for less than a year.

Authorities say that Shaw pulled Holt over for a routine traffic stop, at which point Holt ran from his vehicle. While Shaw pursued him on foot, Holt opened fire, fatally wounding Shaw. The officer was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital not long after the shooting.
