An off-duty Brazilian cop managed to fight off two robbers last week in a pharmacy while he held his infant son in his arms, according to surveillance video.

Sao Paulo police sergeant Rafael Souza was in a Campo Limpo Paulista pharmacy with his wife and child when two armed robbers entered the store, reported The Washington Post Wednesday. According to the police, one of the robbers pointed his gun at Souza and his son, prompting the off-duty cop to pull out his gun and start shooting.

WATCH:

Surveillance video shows Souza firing at the armed robbers while he protects his infant son in his arms. Souza’s wife appears in the corner of the video, ducking and hiding behind shelves to try and get their son to safety. Souza is eventually able to hand his son off to his wife and resumes the gun fight with the robbers, fatally shooting both.

The city’s coroner’s office said both robbers were pronounced dead at the scene. As for Souza, he will have to take a psychological analysis before he returns back to work.
