Apparently the People’s Republic of China is very selective when it comes to the supermodels they let into their country.

Dozens of the most beautiful women in the world walked in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai last week, but five of the models for the lingerie brand were noticeably absent from the runway. Russian models Kate Grigorieva, Irina Sharipova and Julia Belyakova were all denied visas for the event as well as Ukrainian model Dasha Khlystun and American model Gigi Hadid.

Of course, the show went on as planned, but unfortunately these girls missed out on an opportunity of a lifetime thanks to the Chinese government. (RELATED: Russian Model Takes A Shot At China Over The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show)

Luckily some of these girls have had the chance to walk in the annual event before and the Victoria’s Secret Family will most likely invite them again. Until then, here are the beautiful women who were banned from this year’s fashion show.
