CNN is reportedly not going to be attending the White House Christmas party due to President Trump’s “continued attacks on freedom of the press” and its network.
According to a Politico report published Tuesday, a CNN spokesperson said, “CNN will not be attending this year’s White House Christmas party.
The spokesperson added, “In light of the President’s continued attacks on freedom of the press and CNN, we do not feel it is appropriate to celebrate with him as his invited guests. We will send a White House reporting team to the event and report on it if news warrants.”
Recently, Trump called out CNN’s international network in a tweet, saying:
.@FoxNews is MUCH more important in the United States than CNN, but outside of the U.S., CNN International is still a major source of (Fake) news, and they represent our Nation to the WORLD very poorly. The outside world does not see the truth from them!

CNN responded to that tweet with its own post, saying, “It’s not CNN’s job to represent the U.S to the world. That’s yours. Our job is to report the news. #FactsFirst.”
CNN and President Trump have had a long history of conflict. This summer, President Trump tweeted a gif of him tackling a man with a CNN logo for a head. (RELATED: VIDEO: Trump Pegs Hillary Clinton With A Golf Ball In Retweet)
