Radio personality Randy Credico was Roger Stone’s link to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, a source with knowledge of the House Intelligence Committee’s investigation told The Daily Caller Wednesday.

The source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told TheDC that Stone told the congressional committee that he reached out to the comedian to confirm the validity of remarks Assange made in July 2016. Credico has interviewed Assange on his radio program and has visited the WikiLeaks founder at the Ecuadorian embassy in London.

The Daily Beast reported Wednesday that Credico received a subpeona from the House Intelligence Committee. “I’ve been to the embassy several times, and he’s a source. Like anybody else, I cannot talk about my conversations with my sources,” Credico told The Daily Beast.

The source told TheDC that Stone told the committee he was not told what the contents of the emails were or who the source of them was.

Stone declined to comment.

The famed Republican political operative and longtime Trump confidant has described his Assange connection as a journalist. Credico hosted a radio show on WBAI, ostensibly qualifying him as one.

Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee have focused their ire on Stone’s comments during the campaign that Assange would leak damaging material. The political operative said in an August 2016 speech that he believes “the next tranche of his documents pertain to the Clinton Foundation but there’s no telling what the October surprise may be.”

In October, WikiLeaks released a trove of emails from the Democratic National Committee and John Podesta.
