Two more women came forward Wednesday evening to allege NBC “Today” Host Matt Lauer sexually harassed them, according to a New York Times report.
The women accused Lauer, who was fired early Wednesday for alleged sexual harassment, of behaving inappropriately in the workplace, The New York Times reported.
One of the women alleged that in 2001 Lauer called her into his office where they had sex, according to one person who heard the complaint. The woman did not give her name to The NYT, but said she felt she didn’t have a choice in the matter and felt ashamed so she didn’t report it to the human resources department.
NBC fired Lauer after receiving a complaint that he sexually harassed a woman during the 2014 Olympics. A Variety report that came out after the firing was announced contained various allegations, ranging from Lauer allegedly sending a woman a sex toy or playing the game “f**k, marry, kill” with his co-workers.
“On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer,” NBC News chairman Andrew Lack wrote to staff. “While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over 20 years he’s been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident.”
Representatives for Lauer didn’t get back to TheNYT for additional request for comment.
