Johnny Manziel’s domestic violence charge has officially been dismissed.

The Texas A&M Heisman winning quarterback was charged with a domestic violence misdemeanor after an alleged altercation with his girlfriend at the time, Colleen Crowley, in Dallas January 2016.

He cut an agreement with the prosecutors to avoid the charge in return for seeking anger management and substance abuse help.

NBC Dallas/Fort Worth reported the following Wednesday:

The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office on Wednesday confirmed Manziel successfully completed requirements of a court agreement that included taking an anger management course and participating in the NFL’s substance abuse program.

The 24-year-old Manziel also had to stay away from Colleen Crowley, who accused him of hitting and threatening her during a January 2016 night out. The case was dismissed Nov. 22.

Hopefully this continues to signify that Manziel is headed in the right direction and he has his life back on track. He might never play football again, but at least he pulled himself out of a nosedive from two summers ago that looked like it would end tragically.
