A woman faces federal charges after starting a drunken brawl on a plane and biting at least three flight attendants.

Ires Alves Pereira, 40, was arrested and subsequently charged Wednesday after launching into a drunken rage when drinking alcohol on a flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, The New York Post reported.

Pereira punched her seat mate and broke another passenger’s glasses, according to authorities. Flight attendants attempted to calm her down, but she responded by kicking, biting and hitting them. They resorted to strapping her to a seat for the remainder of the flight, according to court documents. Flight attendants were taken to the hospital upon landing and officials took Pereira into custody, Patch.com reported.

Pereira has been released on a $100,000 bond.
