Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett’s health status seems to be rapidly changing for the Big Ten championship against Wisconsin.
Initially, it was reported that Barrett would be fine to play in the game, despite his knee injury prior to the Michigan game.
That seems to have substantially changed as of today. In fact, it doesn’t seem like anybody knows. Some reports indicate he’s not going to play, others say he’s fine and some have him as a game time decision.
Beanie Wells is on 97.1 in Columbus saying that J.T. Barrett will not play tomorrow due to an open wound and obvious swelling in the knee, and would therefore be unable to do QB runs.

Barrett had an arthroscopic surgery on Sunday and is playing on Saturday, which is kind of nuts. Meyer just said that it’s about how Barrett has responded and he still has 24 hours. Seems like there’s a lot going on here in terms of how healthy Barrett actually is.

Though Meyer said Barrett is cleared, he didn’t answer directly whether he would start or whether he was confident he would be as effective as normal because of the knee.

Does anybody have any idea what the hell is going on with this team? Anybody at all? How was he good to go a few days ago, and now he might now play at all?
This smells like Ohio State knows they’re going to lose, and is just getting the excuse machine fired up. Pray for Ohio State. They’re going to need all the help they can get.
