  • Time Magazine released its shortlist of finalists for Person of the Year. The finalists include: Jeff Bezos, The Dreamers, Patty Jenkins, Kim Jong Un, Colin Kaepernick, The #MeToo movement, Robert Mueller, Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, Donald Trump, and Xi Jinping.
  • MSNBC host Joy Reid apologized for past homophobic comments against former Florida Governor Charlie Crist. Crist tweeted at Joy, saying, “Long forgotten, but thank you, Joy. I appreciate you.”
  • Comey tweeted one of his own personal quotes about the FBI in a subtweet to President Trump. More than a third of the former FBI director’s tweets have been quotes from historical figures relating to government and ethics. This time, Comey thought his own personal comments were worthy of Tweeting alongside other figures on his account, such as Winston Churchill and the Biblical figure Amos.
  • Richard Blumenthal said President Trump uses words of a “criminal defendant” on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.
  • ABC News’ Brian Ross reported incorrectly that candidate Donald Trump told Michael Flynn to contact Russian officials. The news organization then issued a correction, stating that president-elect Trump told Flynn to contact Russian officials.
