John Conyers III Allegedly Body-Slammed His Girlfriend And Cut Her With A Knife

John Conyers III, son of disgraced former Rep. John Conyers Jr., allegedly body-slammed his girlfriend and then spat on her during a domestic dispute, according to a new report.

Conyers Jr., who resigned on Tuesday after a flood of sexual harassment allegations against him, has said that he wants Conyers III to run for his empty seat.

Conyers III was arrested on February 15 after allegedly body-slamming his girlfriend, spitting on her and swinging at her with a knife, cutting her arm, according to documents obtained by NBC News. Police found Conyers’ girlfriend with a small stab wound on her lower bicep.

Conyers III was not charged as a result of the alleged assault because of a “lack of independent witnesses” and because prosecutors said that it “could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the victim’s injury was not accidentally sustained.”

NBC News described 27-year-old Conyers III as a Detroit hedge fund manager.

Conyers III previously had a brief amateur rap career where he bragged that his “n***as* deal drugs. (RELATED: John Conyers’ Son And Appointed Successor: ‘My Dad Is A F***ing Player’ [VIDEO])

Conyers III raised eyebrows in 2010 when he described his father, who is now accused of being a sexual predator, as a “f***ing player” on Twitter.

“My dad is a f***ing player and reckless as hell! He just got at this doods wife super low-key,” Conyers III tweeted.

That same year, Conyers Jr. was forced to repay the U.S. Treasury $5,682 after Conyers III was caught misusing a taxpayer-funded Cadillac Escalade.

Conyers Jr. is expected to be replaced either by his son, Conyers III., or by his great-nephew, state Sen. Ian Conyers, who announced he will run for the open seat.

Conyers Jr. resigned after intense pressure to step down from his seat in the wake of serious sexual harassment allegations leveled against the congressman.

Sworn affidavits signed by four of his former staffers describe Conyers Jr. as a serial sexual harasser who preyed on his female staffers and demanded sexual favors from them. He also allegedly abused taxpayer resources to pursue sexual relationships with women.

Conyers Jr. paid off one former staffer with more than $27,000 in taxpayer funds in exchange for her silence, after she accused him of sexually harassing and then firing her for rebuffing his sexual advances. He has denied all wrongdoing.
