Taylor Swift was featured as one of Time Magazine’s “Silence Breakers” in their Person Of The Year issue released Wednesday.

She recounts her own experience with alleged sexual harassment and her very public lawsuit with her DJ David Mueller.

According to Time:

In 2013, the singer-songwriter took a photo with a Colorado radio DJ after an interview. During that photo, Swift says, DJ David Mueller reached under her skirt and grabbed her rear end. Swift privately reported the incident to the station at which Mueller worked, and he was fired. Mueller then sued Swift for defamation; she countersued for a symbolic $1—and won.

Since the settlement, Swift admits she’s had a hard time dealing with the fallout. She claims “trolls” made jokes about the case and tried to minimize her work against accused sexual harassers. So she turned to another female in the entertainment industry who’d been through an allegedly similar incident.

“I spoke to Kesha on the phone and it really helped to talk to someone who had been through the demoralizing court process,” she told Time.

Kesha currently is embroiled in a case against her producer, Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald. The case, which was filed in 2014, accuses Dr. Luke of physical and sexual abuse. Kesha also alleged that Dr. Luke ruined her career and requested a termination of their working contract, which was denied by the court.

Like DJ David Mueller, Dr. Luke countersued for defamation and only muddied the water further. The case is still ongoing, however, Kesha recently released an album on her own dime.

Both Taylor Swift and Kesha appear to have a pretty similar story of alleged abuse to tell, so it seems natural that they’d connect over this. Taylor claims she wants to use her platform to encourage yet more women to come forward against their abusers.

Kesha was featured in a recent Time spread about mental health, but has been relatively quiet about her ongoing legal battles. Though her recent album, “Rainbow,” has been a smash hit. “Praying” reached #25 on the Billboard Hot 100 list earlier this year.
