An Indiana police officer has been reinstated to her position, following a nearly month-long suspension for ripping a fellow officer for his “white male privilege.”

Captain Carri Weber made the original comment Nov. 1 to an unnamed male officer. She was placed on paid administrative leave Nov. 16, and a police board voted to reinstate her Thursday, according to The Washington Post. The male officer was given a two-day suspension following the incident for “conduct unbecoming of a Plainfield police officer.”

The male officer, a veteran with nearly three decades of service, questioned a statistic during a presentation indicating that transgender individuals have a 332 percent greater likelihood of falling victim to police violence than non-transgender individuals. The statistic came from the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs, a self-described “national advocacy [group] for local LGBTQH communities.”

“My wife has never been part of police violence,” said the male officer when presented with the statistic. “Most of the people that I know have never been, accused the police of violence. So I guess I don’t get where that statistic comes from.”

“Cause your white male privilege, so you wouldn’t know,” Weber said.

“Chief, you gonna let them get away with that?” said the male officer. “Seriously? I’m asking a legitimate question here, and I’m getting taught white privilege? Are you serious? I find that extremely offensive.”

WATCH:

The Plainfield police department had previously suspended Weber in August for possessing alcohol in her car and driving within eight hours of drinking alcohol, both breaches of department policy.
