President Donald Trump warned his supporters Saturday morning that opposing embattled senatorial candidate Roy Moore means supporting the agenda of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

“We can’t have a Pelosi/Schumer Liberal Democrat, Jones, in that important Alabama senate seat,” Trump told his Twitter followers, referring to Moore’s Democratic Alabama opponent, Doug Jones. Voters will cast their ballots on Dec. 12.

“Jones will always vote against what we must do for our country,” the president added. The rebel-rousing tweet came after a Friday rally in Florida in which Trump railed against many of his fiercest critics, while propping up Moore’s candidacy.

The president also tried to buttress Moore’s argument that Beverly Young Nelson forged his signature on her high school yearbook. Nelson cited the yearbook as evidence that a 34-year-old Moore pursued her sexually when she was a teenager.

“So, did you see what happened today, you know, the yearbook?” Trump asked the cheering crowd at the rally, which took place on the border of Florida and Alabama. “Did you see that? There was a little mistake made. She started writing things in the yearbook.”

Nelson and her lawyer, Gloria Allred, claimed in November that the inscription was written by Moore but did not mention that Nelson had added the date and location. Conservatives believe Nelson’s refusal to admit the discrepancy could toss Moore an easy victory.

“Gloria Allred might as well have made a $10 million in-kind contribution to Roy Moore,” Rich Lowry, editor of the right-leaning National Review, tweeted Friday.

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro expressed similar sentiments shortly after the revelation. “So does Moore now win by 8 points or 10 points? Well done, Gloria Allred.” He rejected the belief that Nelson forged Moore’s signature, but said it “doesn’t matter politically” because “this will be the peg to dismiss her story.”
