Indiana Representative and current U.S. Senate candidate Todd Rokita is releasing a campaign ad that pokes fun at people who refuse to say “Merry Christmas.”

Rokita, a Republican, urges the American people to remember why Christmas is celebrated, and said “liberal political correctness” has attacked common “traditions and values” held in the U.S. The Indiana Senate candidate asked voters to “remember” that Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.

The Daily Caller News Foundation obtained a video of the advertisement.

“In Indiana, the Christmas season is the Rokita family’s favorite time of year,” Rokita said. “Amid the hustle and bustle of the season, let’s not forget what we are really celebrating: the birth of our Lord and Savior. In this age of liberal elites whose political correctness attacks everything we hold dear, let’s instead stand up for our traditions and values.”

President Donald Trump has promised to end “the war on Christmas.” Trump told a crowd in October they would be “saying Merry Christmas again.”
