Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was medically cleared to return to football late Tuesday night after recovering from a broken collarbone.

Rodgers announced the news on Instagram with a photo of himself in a hospital bed. He captioned the shot, “It’s been a long road from that day to this, but I’m happy to say I’ve been medically cleared to return. Thanks for all the love, support, prayers, and well wishes over the past 8 weeks and a big thank you to Dr McKenzie and our incredible training staff. #riseagain.”

The Packers are currently 7-6 and probably need to win out in order to have a shot at the playoffs. That almost certainly wasn’t going to happen with backup Brett Hundley. It still might not even happen with Rodgers back, but the team’s odds certainly increase.

This is also really bad news if you’re an NFC North fan. Lions fans everywhere, myself included, should probably start getting a bit worried. Things are about to get very interesting.
