Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is itching for a return to political life. Once accused and convicted of paying sex from a 17-year-old Moroccan call girl nicknamed “Ruby the Heart Stealer”, voters might think his political life was left for dead. He was ordered to prison for a 7-year-stint. There was also the tax fraud debacle. The court declared him finito with politics for life.

But his luck may be turning around.

Thanks to a few appeals, Berlusconi is prepping for public office — again.

And he may actually want it.

During the whole Moroccan call girl ordeal, he was accused of having “bunga bunga sex parties.” Which, of course, he disputes.

According to Bloomberg Politics, Bersculoni — who appears to have the teflon characteristics of President Trump — is $2 billion richer than he was previously, making the 81-year-old billionaire at least a conceivable political threat.

Berlusconi is appealing to the European Court of Human Rights against the ban on him ever returning to an elected political post.

“He’s 81 so I assume this is his last election, but he’s resilient,” Rome prof Giovanni Orsina told Bloomberg Politics. “The odds are to bet against him but I would be very careful with any prophecy regarding the man.”
