The GOP is on the verge of passing historic tax reform.
There is an enormous amount of messaging from both sides over the bill’s impact on regular Americans.
Leader McConnell took questions during a press conference after passing tax reform through the Senate early Wednesday morning, and the final question from the group of reporters gathered included a request for McConnell to respond to a quote from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.
WATCH:
The reporter read back the Democratic leader’s talking points, saying Republicans would “rue the day” when they passed “corporate” tax cuts.
Then McConnell clapped back.
The Majority Leader told the reporter flatly, “Your job is to use the Democratic talking points, I understand that.”
McConnell then went on to talk about how important it was to keep a Republican majority in the Senate so that the tax cuts can be permanent.
