President Donald Trump congratulated Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell Wednesday for passing tax reform, and the senator’s response did not disappoint.
“I would like to congratulate @SenateMajLdr on having done a fantastic job both strategically & politically on the passing in the Senate of the MASSIVE TAX CUT & Reform Bill. I could have not asked for a better or more talented partner. Our team will go onto many more VICTORIES,” Trump tweeted Wednesday.

McConnell responded 30 minutes later with a gif of himself giving a power point and smiling.

Senators narrowly passed Republicans’ rewrite of the tax code in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, along party lines.
Senate lawmakers passed The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act 51-48 Wednesday roughly 10 hours after their House colleagues kicked the measure over to the chamber.
The House is scheduled to vote again on the bill Wednesday.
