Congress’ successful passage of tax reform has given members of both the Republican party and the Trump administration a moment to take an end-of-year victory lap.
Some very emotional speeches were made at both the White House and on the Hill, but there were still some members of the Trump cabinet who were not in attendance who celebrated on social media. One of them was the proud, outspoken Texan Rick Perry. Perry serves as the chairman of the Department of Energy and was the former governor of Texas.
Texas famously has very low corporate and individual tax rates. Perry celebrated the GOP tax reform bill by tweeting out a photo from his office window overlooking the National Mall. It featured a hat that appropriately states ‘Make America Like Texas.’
We’re sure those in Texas would agree.
