Apparently at least one NFL executive is worried about the immune system of Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield.
Pro Football Focus analyst Steve Palazzolo tweeted Friday, “Talked to an AFC executive who thinks Baker Mayfield missing his press conference due to the flu is a sign of a weak immune system that simply won’t play in the difficult weather of the AFC/NFC North.”

Naturally, it didn’t take long before this opinion of one NFL executive started gaining steam online.
There are plenty of knocks on Baker Mayfield. His antics on the field, his size, his arrest record and other things.
But his immune system? Seems like a bit of a stretch if you ask me. The guy is a little sick right now. I hardly think that’s enough cause for concern to start knocking on his draft stock. Seems to be a bit quick on the trigger.
Maybe wait until he’s out for several weeks or hospitalized with an illness before worrying about his ability to play in the NFL.
Also, I really didn’t think I’d be writing defending Baker Mayfield’s immune system today. What a wild time to be alive.
