Remember When I Said ‘Riverdale’ Was Awful? That Might Have Been A Bad Call

Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to apologize for my quick trigger finger when I called “Riverdale” one of the worst shows ever created.

I wrote the following a few weeks ago:

Let me make this crystal clear: “Riverdale” blows.

I have literally no idea what this show is about or what is happening so far through two episodes. Some kid got shot in the head, they found his body and his sister got arrested. Some how the writers took those very simple elements of the show and made the whole thing confusing as hell.

I wish there was somebody I could sue over the two hours of my life I lost over this trash. Everybody is out in the world going about their regular lives and I’m putting everything on the line for the loyal readers. I just wish somebody would have given me a warning before I dived in.

There’s no way to put it other than I was simply wrong. Hands up to me for being man enough to admit when I screwed up. Most guys would never have that amount of courage to admit when they screwed up. Props to me.

The first couple episodes weren’t great. I stand by that assessment, and I truly was regretting trying to get into the show that had taken the entertainment world by storm. There was just way too much going on, and the whole thing felt confused and convoluted. However, it got much better as the show went on.

We got plenty of twists and turns, the characters actually developed, the stakes got raised, all hell broke loose and we were left with one wild twist ending for the murder case that drove the season. Viewers were also left with a great cliffhanger at the end of season one.

So, I guess I learned my lesson here. I shouldn’t deem things the worst shows on television after two episodes. This show actually is pretty solid. It’s not perfect, there are plenty of corny elements, but it is pretty entertaining.

It also doesn’t hurt the show is smoke show central.

Season two is currently on television, so I’ll need to crush through those sometime in the near future. Hopefully is holds steady and continues to be entertaining.
