U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley has been at the forefront fighting for President Trump’s decision to move the American embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.
On Tuesday, Haley was asked by a reporter if the U.S. was hypocritical defending the “freedom” of the Iranian people but not the Palestinian people, “who have been brutalized for over 50 years.” The reporter went on to ask if Haley believes she is on the “right side of history” when she was the only vote on the Security Council defending the Jerusalem move.
Haley did not miss a beat, saying, “I stood proudly, even if I was the only hand in the Security Council to fight for the will of the people of the United States. They wanted to see the embassy moved to Jerusalem and we follow through with that.”
She continued:
“We very much still want to have a peace process, nothing changes with that. The Palestinians now have to show they want to come to the table. As of now they are not coming to the table but they asked for aid. We are going to make sure they are coming to the table and we want to move forward with the peace process.”
