CNN co-host Chris Cuomo found his inner “gangsta” Wednesday, when he said a Jeopardy contestant “couldn’t make it past the cracka police.”

The contestant, Nick Spicher, gave the correct answer — “Gangster’s Paradise Lost” — to a music and literature question Tuesday, but was penalized for not enunciating the word “gangsta,” with an “a,” as it was originally written in the lyrics. Cuomo took issue with the ruling.

“He didn’t make it past the cracka police,” Cuomo said in a deep, African-American sounding voice. He then burst out laughing at his own joke and immediately tried to redirect away from the comment.

“It wasn’t gansta! I’d sue. I would sue” he added.

He and co-host Alisyn Camerota continued debating the merit of the decision, and said rapper and music artist Coolio publicly supported Spicher and would have accepted the answer.

“Of course he would, that’s why he is Coolio,” Cuomo said. “It’s pronunciation that’s really what it is.”
