Could Peyton Manning be making a return to the NFL?

The team he spent the majority of his career with, the Indianapolis Colts, are currently in the market for a new head coach. And one sports book says there’s a (minuscule) chance that Manning will be next sideline leader in the Circle City.

Indianapolis fired head coach Chuck Pagano following the team’s 4-12 finish this season. Colts owner Jim Irsay should have done years ago, but for the sake of a public relations mirage of “continuity” and “stability”, Pagano stayed on the payroll.

So, who will be hired as Pagano’s replacement?

Bovada has set the odds at 100/1 that Manning will become the next head coach of the Indianapolis Colts. You can see their full list of candidates below:

Peyton Manning retired in 2016, after leading the Denver Broncos to victory in Super Bowl 50. After acting as the face of the NFL for nearly two decades Manning has stayed out of the limelight since his retirement. However, the future Hall of Famer did return to Indianapolis in October for the unveiling of his very own statue outside of Lucas Oil Stadium.

Simply put, the league hasn’t been the same since “The Sheriff” rode off into the sunset.

Many Colts fans would love for Peyton Manning to be hired as the next head coach. But, I think they’ll be just as accepting of any coach that doesn’t try to top Chuck Pagano for the worst play call in NFL history.
