President Donald Trump was in attendance at the game, in which Alabama beat Georgia 26-23. Scarbrough wasn’t the only person angry the President was in attendance. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) went out of its way to encourage protests at the Mercedez-Benz stadium in Atlanta, and one group projected a huge “f*ck Trump” message onto the side of the stadium.
“Trump has made a terrible decision and is disrupting (the game) with his presence,” the NAACP’s local chapter said in a Facebook post on Sunday. “We respect those who choose to do so, and we fully expect some groups who will be protesting outside the game.”
The civil rights group instructed potential protesters to show up at the NCAA championship game with anti-Trump placards in hand and wearing their choice of white attire. The color of the clothing was meant to deride Trump supporters who label their opponents “snowflake,” because they can’t seem to tolerate criticism.
A group calling itself Refuse Fascism ATL also made an appearance in Atlanta. The group demonstrated to support football players who are taking “a knee against Trump.” The kneelers gathered outside of CNN’s headquarters.
