Bella Thorne fired off a tweet about the mudslides in Santa Barbara without putting in a lot of thought in, and it didn’t end well.
Thorne complained about being late to see her boyfriend perform because of the mudslides in a tweet that has since been deleted. Seventeen people have been killed in the mudslides so far, but that really didn’t seem to be a concern of Thorne’s.
Well, Lowe certainly didn’t appear to enjoy her dumb tweet, and hit back hard on Instagram. He posted a screenshot of the tweet, and captioned the photo, “This attitude is why people hate celebrities/Hollywood. Bella, I’m sorry you were inconvenienced. We will try to move out our dead quicker.”
Ladies and gentlemen, this is what we call getting murdered on the internet. That last line of, “We will try to move out our dead quicker,” is just brutal. There’s no coming back from that kind of response.
That’s an internet headshot if I’ve ever seen one before. How stupid do you need to be to tweet what Thorne did? There are dead bodies in the streets, and she’s worried about not making a concert. Seeing a concert should be your literal last concern when people are dying, and chaos is underway.
And Lowe is absolutely right with his assessment. That tweet is the exact reason why people hate Hollywood so much. They try to pretend that they’re not actually disconnected from reality, and then turnaround to complain about people being killed interrupting their schedule.
Thorne should be embarrassed for what she said, and props to Lowe for dropping the hammer.
