Now being called “The Minneapolis Miracle”, Sunday night’s last-second playoff win by the Vikings over the Saints will go down as an all-timer.

Undoubtedly, emotions were running high for many who live in the Twin Cities or New Orleans. But, let’s not forget about our fellow-gamblers in Las Vegas who were put through the wringer, too.

The pregame spread: Vikings -5.5.

The final score: Vikings 29 Saints 24.

Here’s how it happened. With 25 seconds remaining, the Saints took a 24-23 lead with a field goal. The ensuing Saints’ kickoff was a touchback. Three plays later, Vikings’ quarterback Case Keenum hit receiver Stephon Diggs for a 61-yard game winning touchdown as time expired.

But, it wasn’t over – yet. By rule, the Vikings had to complete the extra point. Although the extra point was completely meaningless regarding the outcome of the game, it meant EVERYTHING to the gamblers at Las Vegas sports books.

Instead of kicking the extra point to go up 30-24, the Vikings opted to kneel instead.

Based on the reaction from this sports book, it seems like most betters took the under.
